Four Firefighters Fired, Four Others Retire In Pawtucket Probe

Four Pawtucket firefighters have been fired, and four others have either retired or stepped down following an internal investigation.

In a statement, the City of Pawtucket says its Human Resources, Fire and Police departments have concluded their investigation and determined that the eight firefighters engaged in possible criminal activity resulting in violations of the public trust.

The city is not offering any additional comment due to the ongoing criminal investigation that's being conducted with the Rhode Island Attorney General's Office.

The Attorney General's Office is not commenting on the probe.
