Prosecutors have dismissed a misdemeanor criminal DUI charge against state Representative Enrique Sanchez.
The move comes after Sanchez pleaded guilty to the civil charge of refusing to submit to a chemical test.
The dismissal that was filed Monday in Superior Court stated that in addition to the plea in traffic court, the state was unable to meet its burden at trial due to factual and legal issues.
The Providence Democrat was arrested in Cranston earlier this year.
