New Law Allows Security Cameras In Assisted Living Residents' Rooms

A new state law gives families the option to install security cameras in loved one's nursing home or assisted living facility.

Rhode Island's Long-Term Care Ombudsman says the office receives an average of one complaint per day alleging some kind of abuse in a state facility.

The onus then is put on the state to substantiate those claims, which the office says is often hard to do.

The new law provides a sense of security for both the residents and the residents' families.
