Rhode Island's 2025 Legislative Session Begins Today

Rhode Island's 2025 Legislative Session begins today.

Lawmakers will have a lot on their plates as they deal with issues ranging from the recent RIBridges data breach to the Washington Bridge and the state's budget which is estimated to be 300-to330-million-dollars.

Warwick Representative Joseph Shekarchi, the House Speaker, says this will be the first year without federal relief funding and everything will be on the table, including the reallocation of existing funds to tax increases or program cuts.
