Warwick Standoff Resolved Peacefully

A three-hour standoff with police ended peacefully in Warwick Monday afternoon.

Officers were called to a home on Tiffany Avenue at about 1:30 p.m. after a report of a domestic disturbance that involved a potentially armed man who refused to the leave.

Police say the individuals in the home were able to get out before officers arrived and none were injured.

Police eventually convinced the suspect to leave, and he was taken to Kent Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. Charges are pending.
