R.I. Blood Center Declares Blood Emergency

Rhode Island Blood Center has declared a blood emergency. Our local blood supply has dropped to critical levels, especially for O-negative and O-positive blood types that are essential for trauma, surgery, and cancer patients. Right now, we have just a 1–2-day supply, putting lives at risk.

Summer is one of the hardest times of year to collect blood, but also one of the most dangerous for patients. Every day, someone in our community needs a transfusion. And when accidents happen, there’s no time to wait.

You can make a difference. Donating blood is simple, safe, and takes less than an hour, but it can mean the difference of a lifetime for a patient in need.

Schedule your donation now at ribc.org or call 401.453.8383.

Be part of someone’s survival story. Give blood today.
